What would happen if you took all of the needles off of a cactus?

Probably nothing right away, as long as you didn't injure the plant while removing them. If it's an indoor cactus, I'd say probably nothing for as long as it lived, although if it was outside it wouldn't be able to defend itself against things that might want to eat it.
