Why are butches/studs so manly?

I really don't get them. I know when I say they want too be men, I get all the replies that no their women, bla bla. But I went on an butch-femme forum and they really want to be men, they want to be called an male name and not called a she but he. They really freak me out and I don't know why s want to date them, seriously why don't you just date an man? their men in every other possible way. I don't get the butch-femme pairing at all
