Why was i forced to buy anti spy ware?

As was suggested elsewhere, try to reclaim the amount on your card if possible, I had the exact same thing happen to me months ago, but I did not pay them, and did a system restore ( from the control panel ) to go to a period before the spyware took over the computer. This did successfully remove the pest from the computer. Windows pretends that it does not aid and abet these spyware protection rackets from taking over computers and demanding cash to allow use of the computers, I don't buy it though. Next time, and there will be one, be wary of Windows notices about the computer needing spyware/malware protection, and DO NOT agree to the Windows request for you to run a file ( the virus), otherwise you have let in the invaders. These guys ( Windows and spyware programs ) are pretty crafty. Also, check out " How to remove MS anti- Spyware 2009" on Youtube, some of the guys there give other advice on removal
